What we are looking for:

The Vice President of Product at Social Sentinel, Inc. (SSI) is a crucial member of the leadership team, acting as the primary driver of the organization’s product strategy. The Vice President will oversee the product lifecycle process; product go to market processes; and execution of the product roadmap.

As the Vice President of Product, you will collaborate with the extended leadership team, as well as additional stakeholders, partners and clients, to drive alignment on future product strategy. This role will be responsible for translating business strategies into product plans, driving the definition and execution for aspects of those plans from inception to launch, and optimizing the products to deliver against key financial and strategic goals and core customer benefits.

You will represent the voice of the customer and be responsible for establishing partnerships and ensuring value delivery.

What you will do:

  • Develop a product strategy that drives meaningful innovation and revenue growth while bolstering the Company’s position as the product leader in safety & security insights field
  • Drive strategic problem solving/opportunity sessions with key leadership members
  • Establish and drive the execution of product strategies
  • Establish, refine, and communicate internally and externally a shared understanding of the vision and product roadmap
  • Manage, with equal focus, the product strategy and product execution in coordination with product management, technology, sales, marketing, and other coordinated teams to bring products to market successfully
  • Provide visionary understanding of market trends and new technologies to drive the strategic vision of the product
  • Partner closely with the VP of Engineering to institute product development processes and systems that ensure rapid and successful product launches
  • Prioritize, establish, and grow key partnerships and manage relationships with social media partners and content providers, and develop a backlog of partnerships
  • Work with key stakeholders to author use cases that illustrate our value and can be shared in partnership negotiations
  • Help company solidify standing as thought leader in the safety & security insights field

Skills, accomplishments, & interests you should have:  

  • Bachelor’s degree required (math, statistics, computer science preferred); MBA preferred
  • Demonstrated experience in leading complex, matrixed businesses through the product life cycle
  • Adept at synthesizing various technologies and capabilities as well as simplifying large volumes of data into meaningful insights
  • Experience leading senior leadership teams, proven track record of performing under pressure and executing with integrity
  • A solid understanding of software solutions and/or platform related technologies, ideally coupled with experience managing a portfolio of cloud and mobile applications
  • Prior experience representing a company, brand, or products externally to clients
  • Excellent communications skills, including ability to explain complicated concepts in simple terms and partner effectively with peers

We are looking for a Software Engineer responsible for building Java applications. This includes anything between complex groups of back-end services and their client-end (desktop and mobile) counterparts. Your primary responsibility will be to design and develop these applications, and to coordinate with the rest of the team working on different layers of the infrastructure. Our engineering team is small, values open discussion and curiosity while encouraging people to challenge the status quo. Thus, a commitment to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, and product quality is essential.

Responsibilities:

  • Translate business requirements and use-cases into functional applications
  • Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable Java code
  • Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of the applications
  • Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to these problems
  • Help maintain code quality, organization, and automatization

Skills:

  • Proficient in Java, with a good knowledge of its ecosystems

We are looking for an experienced Data Scientist responsible for creating, maintaining, and deploying the advanced analytics and statistical models vital to the success of Social Sentinel’s proprietary products. The Senior Data Scientist will be an integral member of the Product Team, responsible for ingraining data-driven culture into the product process.

Responsibilities:

  • Properly apply advanced statistical and predictive modeling techniques in order to continually improve the product offering
  • Develop innovative approaches to extract insights and advance product intelligence
  • Translate business requirements and use-cases into effective work plans
  • Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable statistical code
  • Communicate results and insights, including prototyping visualizations for eventual use in product
  • Process, cleanse, and verify the integrity of data used for analysis and modeling
